Pishu: “Life at Europa so far has been great”

We spoke to Andrew ‘Pishu’ Hernandez to get his thoughts on life at Europa, tomorrow’s Rock Cup tie, and more.

Pishu reflected on his time at the club after joining us from St Joseph’s last summer, “Life at Europa so far has been great. We have a great group of players, with a manager that believes in us 100%, and that’s a dream environment for any footballer.”

While Pishu takes up a more defensive role in the team, his brother Anthony plays more offensively. We asked him how it feels to be playing with his brother, “Playing with my brother is always a privilege, not only because he is my brother but also because he is one of the best players in the league, and what he gives to the team, not many can. We both share the same ambitions in winning titles and playing Champions League football, so when someone shares the same ambitions as you, you can always push and strive off each other.”

We begin our Rock Cup campaign tomorrow evening against rivals Lincoln, we asked how the team feels going into the game – “Our feelings going into tomorrow’s game vs Lincoln is very good, we are excited and hungry. We have had a good couple of weeks in training and a good first half against Lynx, which we look to take into tomorrow’s game and continue to take positives from every game, and tomorrow is no different.”

Lastly, Pishu reviewed our season so far – “My year at Europa so far has gone as I wanted it to when I decided on joining them this year. I had a point to prove and I feel I am on track in doing it. My objectives after coming back from injury were to get back into the National Team, win a title, and play Champions League or Europa League football. So when your objectives and the club’s objectives align and are the same, it is always a beautiful experience to live when those objectives are on track. We still have a lot of hard work to do, but working hard is also beautiful.”
